You may have heard of Birch Bark Eatery and their delicious donuts in Glens Falls. Now, they’ve opened south of the Twin Bridges and completely rebranded to Bitchin’ Donuts.
Owner Tania Sharlow has moved to Lark Street to offer her delicious vegan donuts under a different brand, Bitchin’ Donuts. The 100% woman-owned and fully plant-based donut and coffee shop was a welcomed addition to downtown Albany. The space may be smaller than what she was used to in Glens Falls but the traffic is a lot heavier on Lark Street.
Bitchin’ Donuts is quickly becoming the go-to coffee hot spot for those looking for plant-based treats. Plant-based means that there is no meat, no eggs, and no dairy products, or animal byproducts in anything they sell. In addition to coffee and donuts, you can also pick up Brekky Bites, with fantastic names like “Bitch Slap,” “Bitchin’ Burrito” and “GFY,” which I will not be writing out. Don’t forget the Tasty Nibblets and Mac Smacks!
I went in for a s’mores donut and a campfire-themed drink. The donut was really light and fluffy, which I’m assuming I can attribute to the lack of eggs and dairy. They had a ton of delicious choices but I went with the season-themed option. They had a pretty large drink menu and they all sounded delicious.
If you’re shying away because you heard or read the word vegan, you’re missing out. Vegan food has come a long way in a short amount of time so the next time you’re looking for a cute spot with a fun vibe to meet a friend, recommend Bitchin’ Donuts.
