How can I live in the Capital Region my whole life and have just heard about an ice cream place open since before I was born? Thankfully, I’ll never miss King Brothers Dairy again!
King Brothers Dairy started in the 1960s, technically. As they say on their website, “While our grandparents were in the creamery business into the 1960’s, our father always took care of the cows and ran the dairy farm, which has been in our family for over 100 years.” Then, in 2010, they decided to continue the family tradition, and King Brothers Dairy as we know it was born.
One of the things that makes their dairy such high-quality is that their “pasteurized and homogenized milk is rBST and antibiotic-free.” They also say “We pride ourselves in bottling milk from cow to cup within a few hours, delivering you the freshest milk possible” – and fresh is the truth.
We happened to chance upon this place technically. We were driving through Schuylerville and who doesn’t stop for ice cream on a hot day, right? I got a bottle of chocolate milk and Bacon Buzz ice cream. Don’t even get me started on some of the amazing flavors they offer, it was such a hard decision. How do I not pick ice cream with bacon in in though, right? The chocolate milk was delicious. It was thick, smooth, chocolatey and way too dangerous to continually keep in the house but it was a delicious treat.
They also have a country store where, you can see in the video below, offers a ton of their own and other local products to buy. If you find yourself the Schuylerville way or just want a delicious adventure, visit King Brothers Dairy, you will not be disappointed.
