Fat Paulie’s Deli, Saratoga

As an eggplant aficionado, I’m surprised that I didn’t realize that I hadn’t tried one of my favorites yet until I went to Fat Paulie’s Deli in Saratoga.

Thank you so much to Fat Paulie’s Deli for allowing me to try some of their food because if it wasn’t for that, I would have had no idea how good their eggplant sandwiches are.

Fat Paulie’s Deli started Jason Friedman moved to Saratoga in 1993 and was looking for a deli like those he had on Long Island. As they say on their website, “We hope you’ll find Fat Paulie’s Delicatessen a fitting tribute to the ideals of these old school delis, and a nice addition to the already great delis and restaurants that Saratoga has to offer.”

What makes Fat Paulie’s Deli different is how their food is made. Everything is made to order. Everything at the deli is made in-house, including their delicious mozzarella from local milk, the bread is from downstate baker Anthony & Sons Italian Bakery, meats are roasted in-house, so you know you’re getting quality with each order.

I had the eggplant parm sandwich as well as the spicy fried chicken coated in Doritos with local condiment Hot Crispy Oil. Both sandwiches were just delicious. As I mentioned before, who knew one of my top eggplant parm sandwiches I’d never even had yet.

If you’re in Saratoga and hungry and you haven’t tried Fat Paulie’s Deli yet, it may be off of the main strip but the food is delicious and totally worth the mini-walk over there. Enjoy and tell them 518 Bites & Sights sent you!
