Whether you knew it or not, beer is a science but that part is kind of hidden. Now, take two scientists who want to work in beer and science is right out in the open.
Active Ingredient Brewing Company is the child of two pharmacists who gave home brewing a try and fast forward to now, with Brian and Nate having grown their brand to a storefront with great beer and delicious food.
So, every time I go to a new brewery, I have to get a flight. Could I just jump to the IPA? Sure, but, I don’t want to be missing out on anything and maybe the IPA isn’t my favorite. This time, my friend agreed, we got two flights and pretty much tried the whole beer list. Pair that with two NY soft pretzels ($13) with beer cheese and mustard and poutine ($13). If you’re hungrier, grab a burger, bahn mi, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, shrimp tacos or more!
Overall, yes, the IPA Control Group and Mom Genes were my favorites but they also have some pretty great ciders that surprised me. I love the vibe of the place, definitely family-friendly, and the beer is great. Give it a try!
