Looking for a new spot to hang out and grab a delicious beer and a bite? Ballston Spa is growing quickly and there’s a new brewery you need to check out!

Note: A relative of mine is the head brewer at Speckled Pig (and I’m so glad he brought that pineapple beer with him)

Speckled Pig Brewing just opened a few weeks ago and already it’s getting rave reviews! According to News 10, “The brewery is owned by two families: RJ Elliott, Kelly Delaney-Elliott, and Randy Elliott, and Larry and Mary Jo Heid. The Elliotts have owned a real estate company in Ballston Spa for over 15 years. They decided to open a brewery when they met the Heids about a year ago.”

The beers sold at Speckled Pig will all be brewed in-house and they also have a wood-fired pizza oven to offer a bunch of pizza options while you enjoy the delicious beer. If you’re a fan of IPA, they have a lot of great flavorful options. If you’re indecisive, that’s what flights are for! Get four beers that you want to try before you settle on one. Also, the seltzers are made in-house and they do offer options from Galway Wine as well.

Overall, the space has a really great vibe with great beers and live music. Just know that the pizza is popular so if you want some, make sure on a busy night you give it about 30-40minutes. If you’re looking for a new place to hang out with friends, make a stop at Speckled Pig.
