Looking for a delicious beer experience and don’t mind a bit of a drive? Then you gotta check out Paradox Brewery and drink their beer right from the source!
Paradox Brewery is a certified Veteran-owned craft brewery that you can find in the heart of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. According to their website, their history started 40 years ago when owner and founder Paul Mrocka discovered his love for beer and brewing while stationed as an army pilot in Germany.
After a few decades of testing his process on friends and family around Paradox Lake, he realized he needed to expand (at this point he was already brewing 200 gallons per year for his friends). As they describe, “The foundation of our beer is within the water we use which can only be found in the granite 600 feet below the Adirondack Park. Water that is so pure, it needs no filtering or treatment before we brew it with the best malts and hops we can find. We combine these ingredients with our passion for great beer and the result is “Pure Adirondack.””
I loved seeing that on a Thursday late afternoon, how many people were enjoying the spacious tasting room and delicious beers. Don’t worry, though, they have a big parking lot to go with their popularity.
They also have a pretty solid menu that they make in-house (you can find the menu on their website). We may have kept to the tater tots and beer cheese but those pizzas smelt fantastic. They also offer burgers, wursts, and other delicious snacks.
It may be a bit of a drive from the Capital Region but if you make a day of it (like we did), it’s worth the experience. Also, they’re featured on the 2021 Adirondack Craft Beverage Trail so make sure you download your FREE passport and check in while you’re there!
