Whitman Brewing, Saratoga

Delicious beer and food downstairs, delicious coffee and treats upstairs – you get the two-for-one building special at Walt & Whitman Brewing in Saratoga.

Note: This is part of my personal 2021 Capital Craft Beverage Trail journey to fill the passport.

Whitman Brewing, as I’ve written about before, is located in the old Saratogian building in Downtown Saratoga. Walt Cafe is upstairs with coffees, teas, poptarts and other delicious pastries. Downstairs is Whitman Brewing with a bunch of beer options and delicious food.

Last time I went to Whitman Brewing, was Oktoberfest and it was honestly some of the best Oktoberfest beer I’ve ever had. This time, it obviously wasn’t Oktoberfest season so I was excited to try something new. I went with Unnamed Lands: Vic Secret (6.7% ABV). The second iteration in our rotating single hop American IPA series, this version of Unnamed Lands features Vic Secret hops that give strong tropical flavors of pineapple, passionfruit, & a white wine undertone. I really enjoyed this one. It was a great balance of hops, citrus, and seemed perfect for the weather.

Taking a look at their menu, I wish I was hungrier because so many things look amazing. They have Detroit Style Pizza as well as delicious “Other Good Stuff,” like empanadas, fried chicken sandwich, Korean BBQ wings, burgers, ribs, and more.
