There’s something about homemade bread that just elevates something, even if it’s just a basic piece of avocado toast from SPoT Coffee in Glens Falls.
To be honest, I had no idea that SPoT Coffee was a franchise. I happened to be in Glens Falls one afternoon and wanted a snack and stopped by. According to Wikipedia, SPoT Coffee originated in Buffalo in 1996. They have since grown to 17 different locations including the one in Glens Falls and the one in Saratoga Springs. Aside from that, they pride themselves on serving the best fresh roasted coffee and handcrafted beverages.
They may be a franchise but they want you to feel like they’re a staple of the neighborhood when you walk in. I decided to order a Guacamole Toast along with a Chaiscicle. The guacamole toast was fantastic. It was basic mashed-up avocado but the homemade whole wheat bread just put it on a different level. It had great flavoring and I would eat that for breakfast every morning. The Chaiscicle is a chai but like a slushie. I was so surprised by the amount of flavor and even as it melted, it didn’t taste watered down. I loved it. Next time I’m in the area, I should try something more substantial from their menu.
