If you’re looking for a great neighborhood bar that has a ton of beers on tap paired with some delicious food, then you need to check out Mohawk Taproom.

The building has been a bar for decades, until 2014 when O’Leary’s Pub & Grill became Mohawk Taproom. The current owners grew up in Glenville and seeing the for sale sign in front of a bar they used to frequent was a sign that they needed to enter the business.

Since opening, Mohawk Taproom has only grown in its popularity and what they offer. Their menu is standard bar food but elevated in terms of flavor. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich to be delivered and it was so good. It was crispy, flavorful, and I can’t wait to try something else. Keep an eye on their beer list because not only is it ever-changing but they bring in some really interesting choices. Sometimes they even have tap takeovers which allow you to try a lot of one brewery.

The taproom feels like a space where every time you go in, you’ll be welcomed and treated like a regular. Get yourself a delicious beer (there are a ton to choose from), some delicious food, and maybe go see a movie at Scotia Cinema down the street after.
