Lake Placid Opens Brand New Zipline

Looking for a thrill? The new new Sky Flyer Zipline has opened in Lake Placid and it’s waiting for you.

The brand new Sky Flyer Zipline and Skyride Gondola recently opened at the Lake Placid Olympic Ski Jumping Complex back in June.

The Sky Flyer Zipline is open to limited capacity due to COVID-19. They call it on their website, “a thrill for visitors of all ages.” You’ll be able to visit Wednesday-Sunday until the middle of October. Then just weekends the rest of the fall. I’m sure that view with the leaves will be beautiful.

According to New York Upstate, you’ll “fly approximately 30 miles per hour from the top of the complex’s 70-foot tower, down 700 feet to a landing deck at the base of the complex.”

Tickets include the Skyride Experience. that NYUp describes as “the new state-of-the-art gondola and elevator to the top of the adjoining, 120M ski jump tower, for 360-degree views of the high peaks and the surrounding region from an exterior viewing deck.”
