There’s nothing more satisfying than a delicious bagel for breakfast and I can’t believe it took me this long to taste West End Bagel in Clifton Park.
Chris Naughton and Donna Arini loved the bagels that you find in New York City and wanted a place like that here in the Capital Region. “A store that offered authentic NYC bagels, made from scratch every morning using only the freshest ingredients.” According to their website, they trained with some of the best bagel makers in New York City to make sure they were bringing authenticity to Upstate New York. That’s how we ended up with West End Bagels.
I went recently for some breakfast and had to try their special sandwich of the day. This was the staff’s sandwich with eggs, sriracha mayo, cheese, bacon, avocado, red peppers on a Wagel Bagel. What’s a Wagel Bagel? They made it up!
Remember the rainbow bagel craze a few years ago? They decided to do their own version and that wagel bagel was born. According to New York Upstate, the colors (made from vegetable-based food dye) of the bagel are usually five colors but can be customized. You don’t taste a difference but they sure are pretty!
