It may not be the easiest path to a waterfall but it’s not too far out of the way and once you’re down there, the view is worth it.
If you want a nice day outside, I recommend doing the trails and then going to see the Barberville Falls last. There are three trails to choose from: the falls trail, the ridge trail, and the creek trail.
Start on the ridge trail that is right from the parking lot on 23 Blue Factory Road, you follow the orange signs or ribbon. The trail itself is circular and a little over a mile long. The terrain is moderate and somewhat hilly but not anything a beginner wouldn’t be able to handle.
Once you’ve done that trail you return to the parking lot to follow the signs to the falls trail. The trail itself is only about .13 miles and downhill but remember, you have to come back up. There are stairs about half of the way and if the pathway is wet, prepare to slide. The nature preserve only owns up until halfway down the creek so take in the beautiful view and no trespassing.
