Nothing gets me excited like something that wakes up my inner child. Add to that, alcohol to make current Jess happy and that’s a perfect night out.
Nine Pin Cider does a great job hosting amazing events throughout the year, outside of just cider tastings in the tasting room. Recently, I saw that they hosted a 21+ night at Huck Finn’s Playland and was the most upset that I missed it. So, when I saw that they were hosting another, no question, I was going.
My boyfriend and I don’t have kids so the last time I’ve been on some of these rides was when it was Hoffman’s Playland in Latham. Huck Finn’s Playland usually closes at 7 p.m. on Fridays but the Friday we went, it stayed open. For about $30, we got a free drink and unlimited rides on the open rides. Add to that, a DJ who played some of the songs that no millennial could help from singing and it was perfect.
Only about half of the rides were open but probably because 21+ adults are a little big for some of them! All the favorites were available: the merry-go-round, Ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, scrambler, train and a few more. Their website says that after Hoffman’s Playland closed, Huck Finn’s brought the rides to their location. Then, after the 2023 season, the park was acquired by Scene One Entertainment but the park includes the very first Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Roller Coaster, Scrambler, etc. that you remember.
If you see Nine Pin Cider offer this event again, don’t miss it. A beautiful day, theme park hamburgers, cotton candy and a Nine Pin cider in hand- can’t beat it. For the full list of events hosted by Nine Pin Cider, take a look at their website.
