When I go hiking, I like there to be at least one waterfall, even if just to take a second to breathe and enjoy it. What you may not know is that one of New York’s most underrated waterfalls isn’t too far away.

The Adirondack Mountains and around Lake George are some of the best hiking views in the area. What you may not know is that hidden in those mountains is one of New York’s most underrated waterfalls – Shelving Rock Falls.

According to Only in Your State, “the creekside trail to Shelving Rock Falls is only .4-miles long and perfect for all skill levels of adventurers.”

After a quick stroll through the woods, you’ll come upon the 50-foot Shelving Rock Falls. The trail eventually leads you out toward Log Bay and some beautiful views of Lake George.
