Country music fans are in for a treat when seven-time Grammy Award winning country music legend Randy Travis takes the stage at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls on Sunday, September 11 for two special shows at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Travis is the first artist to appear in Kevin Richards’ Country Concerts Close Up! intimate interview and live performance concerts with classic country stars and regional favorites.
“Up Close and Personal with Randy & Mary Travis: A Conversation with a Legend” will feature stories and songs hosted by CMA award-winning radio personality Kevin Richards, an audience Q & A session, and Travis’ biggest hits performed by CMA broadcast winner Richie Phillips, Northeast Country Idol winner Jenna Sue, and regional fan favorite Mark Pierre.
Tickets start at $49 and are available now at the Charles R. Wood Theater website.
“I’m on a mission to put these fantastic country music singers and songwriters from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s back in the spotlight,” said CMA broadcast winner, Kevin Richards. “These special intimate events are specifically designed as premium concert experiences for fans that miss, and appreciate, the talents of legendary country artists who rarely get the chance to play in the Northeast.”
Upcoming Kevin Richards’ Country Concerts Close Up! series artists include Grammy nominee and Dove Award winner Ty Herndon, with special guest Rob Riser, on Sunday, November 27 and 90’s superstar Aaron Tippin, with special guests Martin & Kelly, on Sunday, December 18. In 2023, Suzy Bogguss will take the stage on Saturday, April 22, and a tribute to Country Music Hall of Famer Conway Twitty is also in the works.
In addition to bringing Grand Ole Opry stars, country Hall of Famers, and heritage hitmakers back to Upstate New York, the Kevin Richards’ Country Concerts Close Up! series gives popular regional performers the chance to share the stage as opening acts.
