518 Black Restaurant Week

The 518BRW is a celebratory week commencing June 19th (Juneteenth) through June 25, 2023. It is dedicated to the promotion and support of our Capital District black-owned restaurants, food truck and food cart operators, caterers, and local chefs to create a community of thriving black-owned businesses in the culinary/food space.

During this week, participating restaurants will offer dine-in specials and take-out options with fixed pricing, so customers can indulge in the variety of enticing food offerings.

This is an opportunity to support black-owned business and learn about food cultures emanating from the Deep South, Africa, and the Caribbean as they are all represented here.

So as Black Restaurant Week kicks off, think about how food tells a story about the past, present, and future.

For many, our black history is entrenched with blood, fight, and tears, attributed to the underlying roots of what we eat and how we prepare it. Food has a story and each one of our black-owned restaurateurs has a story to tell.
