Is O’Tooles in Colonie Closing?

O’Tooles has been a staple in Kohl’s Plaza for about 30 years and now, there are rumors that it’s closing soon. Or is it?

O’Tooles Restaurant and Pub is currently for sale and has made a lot of Capital Region residents nervous about its future. The asking price is $575,000 including all of the furniture and equipment.

Apparently, the word of the rumors got out and the owner, Anthony Gizzi, went on Facebook to clear up any questions. His post says “We’re not closing! For sale as it always has been. 30 years in this community. Proud! To say the least. It’s time to hand off the growth, as we have managed the storms. O’Tooles will still be a staple in our community. One way or the other! Please keep your comments polite. We are working to survive in this crazy world. Best to all.”

They then went on to post to promote their summer hours. So it looks like O’Tooles isn’t going anywhere for now, but the opportunity is open for someone to take it over. For now, it looks like it’s safe and the rumors were jumping the gun a little bit.
