Due to a decline in its customer base, Cider Belly has closed one of its locations.
Honestly, I’m taking this as a hint that it’s time I check out their new location in Colonie instead of being sad about the Albany location. Cider Belly has announced that it will be temporarily closing its Albany location due to a decline in office workers in downtown Albany. Since COVID-19, many offices have either cut back on employees or allowed many employees to work remotely.
According to the Times Union, a note on the door at 25 N. Pearl St. says, “We’ve been fighting to keep our downtown shop open in hopes people will find their way back to the office. Sadly, we just can’t afford to continue waiting. Times have changed and we have to change too.”
Cider Belly on Fuller Road is now open daily 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends. Keep an eye on their social media to see which doughnuts they’re offering and support locally!
