A longtime staple of Downtown Schenectady not only announced that they were closing but closing soon.
Bombers Burrito Bar in Schenectady announced late this week that they will close this Sunday (1/29). The other Bombers locations (Lark St in Albany and the Empire State Plaza food court) will stay open, according to WTEN. The Times Union is reporting that the Harriman Campus location has closed as well..
Bombers Burritos Bar in Schenectady has been open for about 14 years. The closure is due to the high costs to keep the location open. It’s a three-level establishment with a quick eats burrito bar on the bottom floor, a more bar-style sit-down restaurant on the second floor and an event space on the third floor but I personally had never been there to see it.
Former owner Matt Baumgartner no longer owns that business (and hasn’t since 2017) but still owns the building. He said he will be looking for a new tenant after Bombers is out by the end of February. Current Bombers owner Jimmy Vann said he will spend his time now focusing on the other two locations.
