Just a place where you can hang with your gnomies. Don’t worry, that’s it for the puns, but local gnome fans, there’s a new restaurant to share your love of the tiny creatures!
The Gnome Bistro opened in East Chatham today according to WTEN. Owner and Chef Zak Russell started at St. Charles Hotel in Hudson, then Mexican Radio in Manhattan, and later Hudson before he became the Executive Chef at Wunderbar Bistro in Hudson, and then became a consultant and chef at Albany Pump Station. Now, he’s opened his own space.
“I have always been a large fan of gnomes. It seemed very family-friendly, and a great choice because of the local East Chatham Bridge, Schillings Crossing, having the nickname of ‘The Gnome Bridge.’ I felt it was meant to be,” said Russell.
The Gnome Bistro is open Thursday-Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner (full menu here). It includes gnome-themed dishes like the “gnomelet” and “gnomecakes” along with familiar dishes like the Reuben, meatloaf and grilled cheese.
