You may be familiar with Nyx Bakery from the Delmar Farmers’ Market but soon, you’ll be able to visit their Albany storefront for delicious treats.
Congratulations are in order for NYX Bakery who just announced that they will be opening a storefront on Lark Street in Downtown Albany in the fall. According to the Times Union, “It is going into the basement level of 290 Lark St., which was home for about a year, until this past spring, to the soul-food restaurant Adani’s Kitchen and, before that, Dreamers Cafe, Ramona’s Cafe and, years back, the original site of Debbie’s Kitchen.”
Owner and chief baker Shannon Dowen-Ronda (who also serves as head chef for the Feed Albany food charity), is hoping to start serving out of that space in early October. What makes her brand special is that when she says “a scratch bakery” it really is. Everything I’ve tasted from the Delmar Farmers’ Market (you’ll also be able to find their products at the Lark St Merc) has been fantastic. I can’t wait to see what else Nyx will be offering and how the brand with grow with this new space!
