Schenectady’s Chez Nous to Reopen with New Owner

Three years after it shut down, Chez Nous will reopen with a new owner and a really surprising change.

As expected, the new owner will be changing the decor and the menu, the surprising bit is that none of it will be french as its name suggests. According to The Daily Gazette, the new owner, Pete Nichols, will be keeping the name because of its notoriety in the area.

The restaurant was open from December 2015 to February 2019. It was known for its high-quality food as well as its expensive menu. That could be in part why it didn’t gain the popularity it needed.

They’re hoping to keep the “feel” of a French restaurant in quality but with a more affordable menu. They’re going to start with a soft opening of their lunch menu and then move into dinner. It seems as a lot of the decor and final menu is up in the air but one thing Nichols does promise is delicious food.
