A long-time Schenectady staple was invigorated a few years ago and now it’s growing to a second location in Clifton Park.
The owners of Manhattan Exchange, Doug and Elizabeth Davis have decided to expand their brand to the site of the former Main Street Grille in Clifton Park, calling the space “The Exchange.”
According to Albany Business Journal, “The main building was a grain and feed mill built in the 1800s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.” The most recent restaurant, Main Street Grille, closed the restaurant at the start of the pandemic in March 2020 and decided not to reopen.
“Historical features that have survived include a wooden pad outside where horse-drawn buggies carrying grain were weighed and a scale with a 15-ton capacity visible through a window. There’s also a roughly 3,000-square-foot barn and a smaller building.”
They’re looking for an early summer opening for the second location.
