March is International Women’s Month and we have a ton of great women-owned businesses locally that I wanted to feature. I asked for your favorite and you didn’t hold back. Love being able to support my fellow women locally! If I missed one you think should be on this list, let me know! We’ll do our best to add to the list!

Jackie Silvestri, owner of 518 Foodies, created this amazing space with such delicious food. It’s a can’t miss restaurant locally!

Mission Accomplished Transition Services – 430 Franklin St., In Urban Co-Works, Schenectady
Their mission statement is to prepare rising young professionals and entrepreneurs for the workforce by providing access to industry specific coaching, mentoring, and sponsorship. Founded by Coach Carmen Duncan, MSW.

Coiled A Textured Salon – 1305 Nott St, Schenectady
The Capital Region’s premier natural and curly salon & retail space, owned by Lavide Barkley.

Jayana LaFotos – Jayana LaFountaine is a portrait photographer based in Troy, NY specializing in family, birth, and lifestyle photography. This is the first I’ve seen her photos and these are beautiful!!

Bare Soul Massage – 70 Main St, Greenwich
They offer Relaxation, Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Thai Massage, Ashiatsu, Pregnancy and Chair Massage as well as facials. Owned by Leah Silva with an all-female staff.

Breakout Press Co – Krissy Monahan creates these really cute designs and is based in the Catskills. She sells hats, cards, key chains, shirts and more. I already favorited her shop for some of the local-themed merch!

Cafe Deli-icious – 413 River St, Troy
Breakfast and lunch but everything on the menu looks great. Kathleen Leibach is the owner and has created a seriously deli-icious menu for sandwich fans!

Alchar Printing – 599 Pawling Ave, Troy
 In 2006, Denise Padula officially became the majority shareholder of the company and Alchar Printing became a NYS Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise. The company continually evolves its products by incorporating new technology, equipment and services. It’s a one-stop printing shop.

Minkd – 2557 Hamburg St, Schenectady

I don’t have enough space to write how much I love this vegan eatery. Chelsea Heilman may have gone through a few issues in the beginning but I’m glad she got to “Take Two” and is in this perfect (relatively) new home serving delicious vegan food.

Susan Kerber started her soap company in a small room with no storefront and now, RAD Soap products are being sold all over the world. From masks, to lotions, to soaps, and more – just walking in this store takes over your nose.

The Food Florist – 3 Science St, Ballston Spa
I’ve only heard amazing things about the food from The Food Florist. You can find Trisha Nusbaum’s food at so many farmer’s markets in the area. Eat them now, freeze them for later, who doesn’t need lasagna at the ready?

Filiaci Holistic Services – 126 Saratoga Rd, Schenectady
Renata Filiaci, MSHW, CD (DONA), RP (USUI), specializes in alternative healing. Her concentrations were in Aromatherapy, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, and Homeopathy and uses that experience as a Holistic Practitioner.

Open Door Bookstore – 128 Jay St, Schenectady
When you’re looking for your next book to read, skip Amazon and Barnes & Noble and come to Open Door in Downtown Schenectady. It’s been serving the Capital Region for over 50 years. Janet Hutchison has owned it for a good chunk of that.

PWR – 6 Vatrano Rd, Albany
You may be familiar with HITT it with Britt, Brittany Burnham recently rebranded and now it’s just straight PWR. It’s the workout I’d love to do, that works, I just need to figure out how to push myself to do it. Looks intense but fun!

Rebma
What was once Mom Squad Creations, is now Rebma, named after owner Amber Murphy. She gained quick popularity over COVID with her Law & Order: SVU Christopher Meloni ass tumbler. I ordered a beautiful Harry Potter water bottle which is the one bottle I use every day.

McLemon’s – 25 West Main, Johnstown
Owned by Jessica Henry McClements, McLemon’s is a women’s clothing boutique that specializes in unique styles and brands. They carry several national and international brands of clothing such as Sourpuss & Lindy Bop as well as accessories, seasonal & gift items, handbags, hair dressings, fandom items (ie Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Pokemon), funky socks, swimsuits and more.

PUSH Fitness Albany – 50 Colvin Ave, Albany
