When you hear the word ramen, your brain probably goes right to those $1 packs you ate in college. A new ramen place is opening very soon in Saratoga but this ramen is not your college ramen.
Former Druthers chefs Mike and Shelley Spain opened Seneca in 2019 and now, they’re ready to take on a new sister restaurant, Rhea, in the old Saratoga Stadium location.
Though they’ve had a pop-up a few weeks ago, the new restaurant isn’t open yet. “Inspired by the Noodle House pop-ups that Seneca offered during the pandemic, Rhea’s menu will be split into two sections: One offering globally inspired sharable small plates (chorizo dumplings, fried chicken bao buns, blackened green beans and tuna tartare), and the other reserved for ramen,” according to Saratoga Living.
The broth for the ramen will be housemade, which takes days to put together – sounds delicious! The bar will have 30 seats but they’re hoping to not make it completely separate, by “blurring the bar/dining areas” and running it down the center of the dining area space. The front of the building will be different from Saratoga Stadium by changing it to all open windows, connecting the indoor and eventual outdoor seating.
The original plan was to open end of March but there hasn’t been an official announcement yet.
