Do you like donuts? Do you like fried chicken? Do you hate having to go to two different places for those two very delicious things? Hate no more because 518 Donuts put those two things together and they’re opening their second location.
518 Donuts announced the opening of their Clifton Park location around August 2021 and since then, have been doing great business bringing Clifton Park what it wanted – donuts and fried chicken.
518 Donuts was founded by Glenn Babineau, Sam Clifford, and Joseph Carl, who are local. According to their website, “Inspired by their travels all over the US, they decided to bring the unbelievably unique combinations of fresh donuts and gourmet fried chicken to the Capital Region and it is a taste combination that does not disappoint.” Though they’re originally from Troy, they currently live in Clifton Park and thought it a perfect place for the flagship location. It didn’t take long to get them back to Troy because they recently announced the opening of their second location.
We don’t have an official opening date yet but you can expect them at the corner of Broadway and Sixth Avenue in downtown Troy.
The menu is an interesting mix of different foods. They, of course, feature donuts like Reese’s explosion, cereal killer, campfire smores, maple bacon, and more. They also have breakfast sandwiches, fried chicken sandwich boxes (that each includes a donut), chicken nuggets, gourmet dipper fries, chicken fried dough, and sides like bacon mac n’ cheese. Among a ton of different options, they’re also known for their gluten-free donuts and 100% gluten-free fried chicken and fried chicken sandwiches. See the full menu on their website. Mouthwatering yet? Mine too.
