Soon you may be able to live out your Hallmark Christmas movie fantasy when some of the notable backdrops are just a few blocks away!
Hallmark has been filming at some local places for an upcoming Christmas movie called “A Spectacular Christmas.”
According to New York Upstate, “the movie is set in 1957 and tells the story of a woman who dreams of becoming a Rockette, much to her family’s dismay. “The title “A Christmas Spectacular” is a play on the annual Rockettes show “Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.”
Hallmark was in Troy earlier this month turning some streets into the 1950s. One location they filmed was DeFazio’s Imports. “I think there may be a scene of people outside and walking into the store, and maybe a scene or two inside, but I don’t know much more about it than that,” said Matthew DeFazio.
They also filmed some scenes in Dutchess County, including Newburgh, Beacon, and Staatsburgh. The casting has yet to be announced.
