As you may have heard (or seen) by now, the upcoming “Pretty Little Liars” show is filming in Schenectady. The show will be called “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” and will be airing on HBO Max.
According to Deadline, “Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own.” So, we won’t be in the Rosewood that we know and love but we will be in the same universe. So far, all of the previous liars have denied any cameos in the new series. Note: a behind-the-scenes photo did show a “Welcome to Rosewood” sign so take that as you will.
The series regulars include Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Maia Reficco, Malia Pyles, Zaria, Mallory Bechtel, Sharon Leal, Elena Goode, Lea Salonga, Alex Aiono and Eric Johnson. Find the full cast on Wikipedia.
What we know is that Schenectady isn’t the only location that they’re filming. They’ll also be utilizing spaces in Saugerties and Hudson as well. The show will premiere on HBO Max but there is no official date yet. One of the bigger sets that we could see in Schenectady was the giant clown outside of the Schenectady Armory. Does anyone else want someone to throw this kind of party at the Armory? Looks like fun!
