It’s coming, it’s not coming. It’s here, but just the airport. It’s coming again, it’s moving. Seriously, Chick-Fil-A, what are you doing?
Okay, so let’s recap. Last we heard, the Capital Region was looking at two Chick-Fil-A’s in the area (and we wouldn’t even have to buy a ticket for a plane). There was going to be one in Clifton Park and the other in Latham. Now, according to Albany Business Review, there may be some preliminary issues.
There’s something about Chick-Fil-A that has a hold on this area. All you have to say is that you saw a poster somewhere saying something about the chain and it’s all we talk about for weeks.
Don’t worry, no one is saying that Chick-Fil-A isn’t coming. As far as we know, with the Clifton Park location, it’s still aiming to be at the old Pier One Imports. The plan is to have both outdoor and indoor seating with a drive-thru. The Clifton Park Technical Advisory Committee is still doing some checks and balances before it goes into official planning. In regards to that location, it seems to be all logistics. It seems like all they’ll have to do is move the front of the building closer to the street and add a crosswalk. Hopefully, we’ll have more concrete answers in February 2022.
As for Latham, the plan is for it to take over the old Brickhouse Tavern. Though in the very early stages, it seems as if it will follow a similar plan with indoor/outdoor dining and a drive-thru. That’s about all we know so far. I think this rumor was the first to be confirmed but it looks like it’ll be the second location to be open in the Capital Region (aside from the airport).
