Another popular Schenectady eatery has announced that they’re closing.
Ja-Dell Whitfield announced a few weeks ago that, it’s official, Artis Southern Cuisine & Steakhouse is officially closed. The restaurant has closed in-house dining since June to focus on Artis on the Creek, the new Catskill location. Then, all services at the Schenectady location closed when the new restaurant was opened in August.
Now, with the struggles of two locations, Whitfield has decided to close the Schenectady restaurant. He also announced on his Facebook that he’s starting a personal chef business along with the Catskill space.
“So I been pondering all the details but I’m starting a personal chef business for ALL occasions. Do you want a personal chef to come to your house and cook dinner for your anniversary a birthday I’ll take care of all that you do nothing but tell me what you want and I’ll make the best experience come true for you right in your house. Specially with Covid going rapid right now and a lot of people don’t want to chance going out to restaurants I’ll bring fine dining to your door! Do you want a igloo set up in your backyard I’ll bring that you that you canhave dinner outside heated. Do you want to picnic outside near the beach I could accommodate that! I’ll bring a personal chef To a beach near you! You just bring union significant other! Do you want somebody cater your wedding party are you wedding I can do that I’ll bring everything I’ll setup everything. “The Artis experience” will bring you something that you never forget! Please share page will be up very soon and website!”
From what I’ve heard, Whitfield has brought the same flavors and passion to the Catskills. We’ll miss this restaurant in Schenectady but happy to see he’s still making delicious food in a driveable area.
