Well, aren’t we becoming the new “hip” spot to film movies and television shows? Add another to the list this week and you may recognize a few names!
Showtime has announced that they will be filming the upcoming Showtime series “Three Women” in the Upper Union Street neighborhood of Schenectady.
According to the Times Union, Possible Productions pinned the announcement to various homes on Baker Avenue. They’re looking to film both interior and exterior shots in the neighborhood and there may be some traffic issues in the area. They expect to film in the neighborhood on Nov. 16.
The show, “Three Women” will star Shailene Woodley (Divergent series, The Fault in Our Stars), Betty Gilpin (GLOW, Nurse Jackie), and DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It, Someone Great). “In Three Women, described as an intimate, haunting portrayal of American female desire, three women are on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. Lina, a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a committed open marriage with Richard, until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story. Maggie, a student in North Dakota, weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship. Gia (Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories, and her relationships with them change the course of her life forever,” according to Deadline.
Settings in the book include Rhode Island, Indiana, and North Dakota so no word yet on which Schenectady will be representing.
