Do you like to visit all of the craft beverage places in the area but lose track of where you’ve gone? Or maybe you’re deciding your next stop but are indecisive? Then, you need the Capital Craft Beverage Trail passport!
The Capital Craft Beverage Trail started in 2015, “to promote craft and farm-based beverage producers in the Capital Region of New York State. This one-of-a-kind “drinking tour” promotes some of the region’s most popular craft beverage facilities. Every producer sources ingredients locally, and beverages are created in small batches to maximize quality,” according to their website.
The way it works, is that you stop at any one of the craft beverage locations on the list and get your passport. Then, you start drinking your way around the Capital Region (legally and safely) to earn prizes. The current map on their website is outdated to the 2020 trail (as of July 2021) but you can still check it out and get an idea for what it looks like on their website. You can either plan it out, go to places at random, explore the 518 by county, you have a whole year to try and fill your book!
The more stamps you get, the more prizes you can win, like a CCBT coozie, shot glass, 5oz taster, waiters corkscrew, or the final prize, admission to one CCBT event. This year’s trail includes breweries, wineries, distilleries, cideries, and more. So, next time you can’t figure out where to go, just flip through your book, pick one at random, and GO!
