I don’t have to tell you that a lot of things have changed since COVID. One of the biggest changes to the Capital Region is Upstate Concert Hall.
If you’re a concert old-timer (like myself) then this isn’t the first change this venue has gone through. I don’t know about you but I still slip up and call it Northern Lights from time to time. Now, I’m going to not only have to remember a new name but a new location. Upstate Concert Hall announced last year that they will be taking over the old Capital Repertory Theatre in Downtown Albany (93 N Pearl St). Now, they’re announcing a new name to go with it – Empire Live.
According to my friends at Nippertown, “Empire Live, downtown’s first premier club in 30 years, was announced this morning. The club is a partnership between SLP Concerts and Step Up Presents.” The space will have two floors, “Empire Live, downtown’s first premier club in 30 years, was announced this morning. The club is a partnership between SLP Concerts and Step Up Presents.”
The new space is already accepting bookings and have announced quite a few shows for the rest of the year. Can’t wait to check out the new space and the newer sound system.
