Popular game board cafe Bard & Baker in Troy has just announced that they’ll be opening a second location in Albany.
/EDIT Jan. 22, 2023 – Bard & Baker will be closing the Albany location to focus more on the expansion of their Troy location.
A couple of months ago, I stopped by Bard & Baker in Troy to enjoy a board game, a drink, and a quick bite to eat and I wrote about it. As I mentioned in that post, “The space is very cool. The treats we did have were delicious and the drinks were perfection. It’s a great place to just relax and have fun, be a kid again.” Now, according to the Times Union, they’re expanding their fun to Albany.
Delmar-based Brewtus Roasting just announced that they would be leaving their space next to the Madison Theatre in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Now, we know what’s going to be taking their place. The best part is, they will continue to serve Brewtus Roasting coffee for those in the community that got used to having it. They were hoping to do this expansion sooner but the pandemic changed those plans. They’re hoping for a July 1st opening.
The difference between this location and what you’ve grown to love in Troy is that Albany is lacking a full kitchen. That means you’ll only be able to get “pastries and grab-and-go fare.” They will also offer products from Short and Stout Tea and are currently awaiting their liquor license. They’ll have a smaller amount of games, around 100, but they still will have one price for unlimited play.
