I announced back in January the news of a new restaurant coming to Altamont and as of this week, it’s open!
The new Farmhouse Tap + Tavern is currently open for take-out. Owner, Jackie Silvestri is best known as creating the popular Facebook group 518 Foodies as well as the successful cookie company, Downtown Dough. Now, she’s expanding even further to opening her own restaurant. According to their Facebook page, “Orders placed will receive a text message confirmation when ready for pick up. Orders can be picked up on the side porch. You will be able to place an order online starting tonight: https://www.toasttab.com/farmhousetapandtavern/”
The Times Union broke down what you can expect from the menu based on the ordering page, “Wood-fired wings (10, with carrots and celery) cost $15, a wedge salad is $14, 12-inch Neapolitan pizzas, as well as burgers and sandwiches, run $12 to $16, and the only dessert, cheesecake with lemon curd and blueberry compote, is $10.”
The restaurant is located at 186 Main St. which is the former home of both Veronica’s Culinary Tavern as well we Mio Vino before that. The head chef is Brandon Johnson, who was previously a sous chef at 15 Church in Saratoga Springs and Mountain View Brasserie in Greenville.
