When was the last time you did something to really treat yourself? With the recent stimulus, I decided to not only support a few local businesses but do something for me.

/EDITBeauty by Carmella has since changed its name to Carmella’s Beauty Bar and moved to a new location at 714 Saratoga Rd, Burnt Hills. You can make an appointment through the website here.

There’s something about someone else taking care of you that is just a completely different level of relaxation. You can do your own nails and draw yourself a bath, but it hits differently when someone else takes care of everything. A few weeks ago, I got a message on Instagram from Beauty by Carmella. Carmella is a recently graduated esthetician from the area who now has a space of her very own inside Rewind Salon in Rotterdam.

Carmella offers a ton of different options but when I went, I had a manicure, pedicure, and lash lift and tint scheduled. Though she’s still getting things officially set up, everything was very clean, organized, and COVID-safe. We had a great time talking during the treatments that I didn’t even realize how long I was there. She was extremely professional and made sure every step in the process was comfortable. It’s been a couple of weeks and my nails still look amazing (albeit a little chipped at this point, but very healthy).

One of my favorite new treatments is the lash lift and tint. It takes a little while to do just because of the time to let the product sit but who’s mad at keeping their eyes closed for an hour? Being a redhead, I depend so heavily on my mascara but with this treatment, it looks like I’m wearing some when I’m not! At the time, Carmella wasn’t offering facials but based on her social media, they should be opening up soon and I can’t wait to add that to the list!
