COVID has changed a lot of things in our lives but it’s good to hear that an upcoming event has just been moved and not canceled.
The 43rd Freihofer’s® Run for Women has announced that instead of holding the run originally set for Saturday, June 5th, it will be moved to Saturday, September 25th.
The event will feature an in-person 5K, Junior 3K and Kids’ Run featuring CDC- and New York state-mandated safety measures. Virtual options will also be offered for both the 5K and Junior 3K. Registration for the event will open late spring at freihofersrun.com.
“Following discussions with our title sponsor, the City of Albany and supporting agencies, we have decided to reschedule the event to the fall, which will give us additional time to see how the COVID pandemic plays out, while allowing those wishing to get the vaccine an opportunity to do so,” said FRW Event Director Kristen Hislop. “Last year has been rough for everyone. We are excited at the prospect of getting back together again after so many months of social distancing!”
Also, the Training Challenge start will be moved from Monday, March 22 to Monday, July 12.
