An Albany historic staple has been sold.
Lombardo’s has been in that spot since 1919, according to the Times Union, and closed for good back in 2018. Now, we have word that the building has sold and it will be official by April.
Though we’re sad to hear that it’s the end of this era officially, it’ll be good to put something in that space that’s on a highly populated street in Albany. The Lombardo family stopped running the restaurant in 1991 when they sold in. Now, we’re hearing that the new owners were happy to see the elaborate kitchen and apartments available upstairs in the property. It stands to reason that the space will be replaced with another restaurant and I, for one, can’t wait to see what ends up in that historic space next.
