Finally, it looks like some of our original summer plans are getting back to normal. Great Escape has an opening date!
According to WNYT, “Gov. Cuomo announced earlier this week that arcades and indoor entertainment centers can open at 25% capacity. Outdoor amusement parks can open at 33% capacity.” That includes Six Flags Great Escape!
Great Escape will be opening for weekends only starting on May 1 and then daily starting June 24. The indoor water park will be open March 26.
They were unable to open last year due to the coronavirus and this year, are looking for new employees. Applicants must apply online at sixflagsjobs.com and select “Lake George, Great Escape.” Interviews and training will be done virtually, according to the Times Union.
“Six Flags will hold its first virtual hiring event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 13. Candidates seeking assistance with the application process can call the Great Escape human resources office at 518-792-3500, ext. 3369.”
Occupancy will be restricted to 33%, social distancing protocols will be in place, face masks will be required (available for sale at the entrance), temperatures will be taken prior to entry, and you will need to make a reservation at www.sixflags.com/reserve.
