UPDATE on Saratoga Race Course Opening 2021

We heard that the dates for the Saratoga Race Course 2021 meet were announced but had no information if we could go, until now.

My last post went into detail that NYRA has announced that the 40-day 2021 meet will begin on Thursday, July 15 and run through Labor Day, or September 6.

Now, according to Saratoga Living, Governor Cuomo has announced whether or not anyone will be able to attend.

“In a February 10 press conference, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that beginning February 23, New York State entertainment and sporting events in major stadiums and arenas with a capacity of 10,000 people or more can reopen at 10 percent capacity.”

Along with the announcement, he released a list of places that were included, one of which locally was the Saratoga Race Course. They plan on using the same method used for people to see Buffalo Bills games during the post-season. Note, it does require a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the event.

Surprisingly though, SPAC is not included on the list so we’ll have to wait and see if Saratoga will fully open this summer.
