Lake George to Host Fireworks This Month

In a sense of normalcy and excitement, we’ll be able to see fireworks in Lake George again!

Days after a fireworks display was canceled in Saranac Lake, organizers of the Lake George Area Winterfest announced that they will be hosting weekly fireworks, according to the Post Star.

Over the next three Saturdays, they will be hosting an 8 minute fireworks display over Fort William Henry starting at 7pm. They’re hoping to show how they can still host people while still being social distanced. One example of that, the “fireworks will be shot directly upward in order to expand the scope of the viewing area so crowds don’t gather in one place.”

If you’re headed in that direction, note that Beach Road will be closed to traffic between Canada Street and Westbrook Road between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Volunteers will be on hand to make sure that no large crowds gather.
