I’ll be honest, I’m not quite knowledgeable about sports and one of my favorite parts of the biggest Sunday in sports is the Puppy Bowl. You may recognize the field in this year’s installment.
On Super Bowl Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs will be going head to head but my focus each year, is always the pregame. Not that pregame, I head over to Animal Planet to watch the Puppy Bowl. This year will be the 17th Annual Puppy Bowl at 2 p.m. EST.
If you’ve never watched the Puppy Bowl but love doggies, you’re missing out. Real talk, you just watch a bunch of puppies play with each other with a football-esque play-by-play. COVID made it difficult to film due to social distancing but the Capital Region came through.
According to News10, the background to this year’s “game” may look familiar because it was filmed at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls back in the fall. The Glens Falls space gave the puppies more room to run around. “This is going to sound ridiculous, but it was closer to human football,” Ruffarree Dan Schachner told USA Today. “The puppies were focused on one ball or toy as opposed to 20.”
