CDTA is just adding more and more ways to get around the Capital Region and the newest is scooters!

First, we were jealous seeing all of these bigger cities with bicycles to rent to take around the city. Then, we got them. Next, it seemed like scooters were popping up everywhere but here, now, we’re going to get them too.

There isn’t a lot of information out yet about the scooters but we can probably assume that they will be tracked on a similar if not the same app and placed all around the Capital Region. These scooters in other cities are electronic so you won’t have to be manually scooting yourself uphill.

Many posted worries on Reddit about seeing these scooters left around the area but I can’t imagine it won’t be any worse than the bicycles. One thing we do have to worry about, though, is our ankles. You just know someone is gonna be renegade scooting hitting people down the Albany streets.

I’m excited to have more modes of transportation but interested to see how popular these will be. It definitely makes us seem like more of a tourist destination.
