518 Foodies, Downtown Dough Owner Announces New Restaurant

Love seeing new restaurants opening during the time of COVID and I think we can already bet that they’ll have really great cookies!

Congrats are in order to Jackie Silvestri, owner of Downtown Dough and Facebook foodie collective 518 Foodies, who is opening Farmhouse Tap + Tavern at the former home of Veronica’s Culinary Tavern in Altamont.

According to the Times Union, Silvestri has no formal restaurant owning experience but has shown her skills as she grew Downtown Dough to the incredibly popular business that it is. They will be utilizing the existing wood-fired oven to offer pizzas, burgers, wings, and other traditional pub fare. The chef will be announced soon.

The goal is to open mid-March, depending on the liquor license. “Farmhouse Tap + Tavern will be open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, with weekend brunch rolling out in the coming months, closed Monday.”
