It seems to be the condiment of 2020 and it’s from right here in the Capital Region. Have you tried Hot Crispy Oil yet?
Just in time for the holidays if you haven’t heard of it before, it seems like everyone is talking about Hot Crispy Oil. The oil was create by former La Serre owner, John Trimble. Trimble’s family owned the restaurant for 43 years until it closed in June. Trimble said he had been making this spicy oil for years and now, he has the chance to make something of it.
Hot Crispy Oil is a “unique recipe of blended extra virgin olive oil, fresh fried garlic, shallots, and chili peppers.” It’s like a chunky dipping oil but is so versatile. I’ve seen people use it on eggs, on pizza, on pasta, anything that would use a bit of oil and a kick is perfect for Hot Crispy Oil.
Tasted Hot Crispy Oil and it’s not hot enough? No worries, they offer an Extra Hot version to bring even more of a kick to your food. Purchase Hot Crispy Oil on their website or through Amazon.
Note: I was given a jar of Hot Crispy Oil to try early on in the process. The label is now different than the featured photo
