Best Buy Closing Not COVID Related?

Best Buy in Crossgates Mall abruptly closed the other day with no explanation and it seems it may not be COVID-related.

Best Buy closed on Thursday without any warning. According to News10, the store is closed “to circumstances beyond their control.”

The Best Buy website said that they will be closed Friday-Sunday, through 10 am Monday for “Safety reasons.” Curbside pick-up isn’t currently available and the next nearest location is in Saratoga.

News10 reached out to Albany County to check if it was because of a COVID exposure. County Communications Director Mary Rozak said:

We are aware of a positive case. It is not an Albany County case. The Albany County Department of Health releases information to the media about positives when there is a need to identify contacts in the community that may be at risk. We did not close Best Buy. In fact, we have had no discussions with the management of Best Buy. We cannot comment on why they may be closed.
