For the first time since World War II, there will be no Altamont Fair this year. Fair food fans, don’t worry, they are still finding a way to get you some of your favorite yearly eats.
For the second time in the Altamont Fair’s over 125-year history, the fair has been cancelled, according to the Daily Gazette.
“Although we held off making this difficult decision as long as we could, we knew that despite our best efforts to create a safe path to host the Altamont Fair, it is clear we must cancel for this year to do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19.“said Kathleen Stanton, Board President.
That doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to get your fried…everything this year. Starting in July, there will be a Fair Food Fest every weekend during the month. Free admission Friday 4-8 pm, Saturday 12-7 pm, and Sunday 12-6pm.
According to the Facebook event, “We are expecting fried dough, deep-fried Oreos, pizza, gyros, sausage and peppers, wine slushies, fresh-cut french fries, tacos, burgers, steak sandwiches and more! All you will have to do is drive-thru, order and pick up for take-out!”
