Fans of Cascade Kitchen & Bar will be disappointed to hear that after about two and a half years, the restaurant is now closed. No worries, though, there are already new plans for the space.
Caskade Kitchen & Bar, a popular tapas-style restaurant in Cohoes, has had some worries about reopening in a world post-COVID. According to Saratoga Living, “While some restaurants have been able to reopen with spaced-out, outdoor seating, the nature of the “small plates” model raises unique challenges.”
As a response, owners Kelly and Joe Proctor announced on social media that they will be closing Caskade and reopening as The Daisy Cohoes.
They said, “Unfortunately the business model for Caskade Kitchen & Bar would likely not be feasible in the near future. We feel so fortunate to have a business model in place that weathered the storm of the lockdown and are excited to be able to bring it to Cohoes. Three years ago we signed a lease at 182 Remsen Street and we have put our whole hearts into it ever since. We are excited to announce that we will be continuing to operate in the space as The Daisy Cohoes – a taco + margarita bar!”
Last August, the Proctors opened The Daisy in Downtown Troy. This would be an offshoot of that restaurant. It will also accept all gift cards for Caskade Kitchen & Bar.
