This pandemic has been hard on all of us. We’re trying to find a smile wherever we can and a couple in Fulton, NY is doing that with Pandemic Christmas.
You just reread that, didn’t you? Yes, I said that a couple in Fulton is bringing you Pandemic Christmas and it’s the end of May.
According to the Facebook page, once the pandemic began, people in nearby Oswego, NY started putting up Christmas lights so Sue and Herb decided to jump on board. They were hoping to “brighten the day (and night) for the essential workers in the economy – doctors, nurses, bus drivers, food service workers, refuse collectors, gas station employees, etc.”
It started when they put up a new strand of Christmas lights daily. Then, they decided to start a nightly Facebook Live at 9:00PM to “spread cheer and happiness during these uncertain times for our friends and family.” Then, those nightly Facebook Lives became 30 minutes each. During this , they show off their lights, sing Christmas songs, ask Christmas trivia, and even some occasional dancing!
After 66 consecutive nightly shows, they recently posted “We plan to continue doing shows at the rate of one or two per week. We will send event invites ahead of time so you will know the date and time to expect to see us!” So if you want to be a part of the next Facebook Live or you’re just a really big fan of Christmas, make sure you like their page to bring some Christmas joy to this quarantine.
