Video Chat with Local Baby Animals

We aren’t the only ones who aren’t getting the interaction that we’re used to. Baby animals at Hancock Shaker Village and the Catskill Animal Sanctuary aren’t getting the love they deserve – until now.

Hancock Shaker Village in the Berkshires is a working farm that teaches about the life and times of the Shakers. One of the big draws to the farm is the amazingly adorable baby animals that they have on the property that you can meet and pet. Now that no one is going to the farm, the animals aren’t getting those visitors.

Hancock Shaker Village has opened up the opportunity for you to have a Zoom call with those baby animals. News 10 shared that the farm is hoping to “offset the economic impacts of closing its doors due to COVID-19.”

  • Every Wednesday at 11:00 AM newborn livestock are streamed on Facebook Live as part of “Virtual Farm Friends” for free
  • 15-minutes on Tuesdays at 10:30 am and 11 a.m. for up to six people: $50
  • 15-minutes on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. for meetings or parties of up to 20 people: $150
  • 20-minutes on Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. for unlimited VIP tours*: $300

Catskill Animal Sanctuary is also doing something similar. News 10 reported that they “partnered with Goat 2 Meeting, a program that brings sanctuaries and rescued animals into online meetings using Zoom, Google Hangouts, BlueJeans, and GoToMeeting.” You can book sessions from 10 minutes to 25 minutes. You can book a spot on the website.
